Relais & ChâteauxAt the foot of one of Jersey's most beautiful valleys, this 18 acre estate plays host to magical woodland walks, an attractive ornamental lake with surrounding gardens and a fully restored Victorian kitchen garden.

Inspiration for the menus that change according to the season comes not only from the kitchen garden and nearby woodland, but also from the abundance of dedicated local farmers and fishermen.

The new state of the art wine cellar with over 4,000 bottles has become a destination in itself. The wine collection showcases some of the finest wines from around the world and is now rated as one of the best in Britain.

The Cottage Garden boutique spa with its secluded garden and hot tub complements the setting, as does the outdoor pool with its relaxed atmosphere and alfresco terrace.

Kitchen Garden

Kitchen Garden

Over the last few years, the manor's Victorian kitchen garden has undergone a complete renovation.

The glass houses (with a self sufficient irrigation system) have been re-built, the paths reinstated and the beds brought back to life. Today, the garden once again supplies the Manor's kitchen with an abundance of fresh produce.

During the same renovation, the ancient crypt was discovered. Little is know about its origins, but the spiral staircase is believed to have been built in the early 16th century. Today, the underground chamber is used as a smoke house for the kitchen's own smoked fish and meats.

The dedicated kitchen gardener, David Lewis, works hand in hand with the kitchen team to ensure a consistent supply of the finest produce throughout the growing seasons. Growing speciality salads, experimenting with rare fruits and maintaining an all year production of micro herbs and cress are but a few of the numerous activities.
